Obituary of Brian Firman
Mr. Brian Firman
1947 - 2025
With great sadness, we announce the death of Mr. Brian Firman, at the age of 77 years on April 23rd, 2025 at the Hornepayne Community Hospital. He is survived by his sons Steven from Hornepayne and Glendon (Faye Dempster) from Saint John, New Brunswick as well as his 6 grandchildren: Bryce, Lucas, Emma from Coniston, Liam, Gareth and Josie Murphy from Saint John, New Brunswick. He also leaves behind his brother Ken Firman (Pat) as well as his nieces Lindsay and Kendra Firman. He was predeceased by his wife: Mary Jane (born Coburn) and his parents: Ken and Barb (born Harris) Firman.
We remember Brian as a family man who loved and cherished the time spent with his loved ones. He was a gentleman who always liked to keep himself busy, finding purpose and joy in staying active. He believed in the value of hard work and making the most of each day. But what he enjoyed most was spending time with family at camp in Nagagamisis Lake, ice fishing with his brother Ken and hauling firewood.
Having spent his career as a locomotive engineer with the Canadian National Railway, it was only natural that he found joy in building model trains, a pastime that echoed the tracks he once traveled. He leaves behind beautiful memories that will continue to travel with us, like the trains he loved so much.
A celebration of life will be held later this summer, on Friday, August 1st 2025 from 12PM to 3PM at the Hornepayne Legion.
