Obituary of Yvon Charette

Nous avons l’immense tristesse de vous annoncer le décès inattendu d'Yvon Charette le jeudi 11 mars, à l’âge de 66 ans.  Il était le tendre époux de Denise de Hearst et le père de Denis (Natalie) de Timmins, Patrick (Jinny) de Hinton, AB et feu Manon de Hearst.  Il laisse aussi en deuil ses 6 petits-enfants: Isabelle (Rémi), Carl (Joanie), Alex, Brielle, Maxim et Samuel, ses 2 arrière-petits-enfants Denis et Rafaël, et ses 5 sœurs : feu Bernice (Noël) de Hearst, Nicole (feu Fernand) de Hearst, Denise (feu Pierre) de St-Catharines, Carmen (Wynn) de Surrey CB, et Lynn (Bill) de Ridgeville.  Il manquera également à toutes ses belles-sœurs et ses beaux-frères ainsi que de nombreux neveux, nièces et amis (es).  Il est prédécédé par ses parents, Arthur et Jeanne-Mance (née Vallée), sa fille Manon, sa sœur Bernice et ainsi que ses beaux-parents Jean-Paul & Yvonne Bérubé.

 

On se souviendra toujours d'Yvon comme étant un homme très social et jovial.  Il aimait parler à tout le monde et faire beaucoup de blagues et taquiner.  Il était dévoué et à sa famille et aimait jouer avec ses petits et arrière-enfants et leur donner des grosses caresses. Il a commencé à travailler à la scierie Tembec à l’âge de 16 ans et y est demeuré jusqu’à sa retraite, après 42 ans de service, en 2012. Il était bien aimé par les camionneurs de “Chip”.  Il les remplissait pleins à net et recevait souvent des cadeaux d’appréciation pendant les fêtes.  Il aimait rendre service aux gens et il était aussi très dévoué comme bénévole pour les Chevaliers de Colomb et comme Père Noël pendant les fêtes. 

La famille apprécierait les dons envers la fondation de votre choix.

Les funérailles auront lieu en la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Assomption, le mardi 23 mars 2021 à 16h15, avec le Père Duolomane Okamba comme célébrant.

***Le nombre maximum en la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Assomption est de 100 personnes et aucun rassemblement extérieur n'est permis.  Toute personne présente doit porter un masque approprié en tout temps et respecter la distanciation physique de deux mètres pour les gens qui ne font pas partie d'un même ménage.***

 

 

We are deeply saddened to announce the unexpected passing of Yvon Charette on Thursday, March 11, at the age of 66. Beloved husband of Denise of Hearst and father of Denis (Natalie) of Timmins, Patrick (Jinny) of Hinton, AB and the late Manon of Hearst. He is also survived by his 6 grandchildren: Isabelle (Rémi), Carl (Joanie), Alex, Brielle, Maxim and Samuel, his 2 great-grandchildren Denis and Rafaël, and his 5 sisters: the late Bernice (Noël) of Hearst , Nicole (late Fernand) of Hearst, Denise (late Pierre) of St-Catharines, Carmen (Wynn) of Surrey BC, and Lynn (Bill) of Ridgeville. He will also be missed by all his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law as well as many nephews, nieces and friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Jeanne-Mance (née Vallée), his daughter Manon, his sister Bernice and as well as his in-laws Jean-Paul & Yvonne Bérubé.

Yvon will always be remembered as a very social and jovial man. He liked to talk to everyone and enjoyed teasing and making jokes. He was devoted to his family and loved to play with his grandchildren and great children and especially loved giving them big hugs. He started working at the Tembec Sawmill at the age of 16 and remained there until his retirement, after 42 years of service, in 2012. He was well loved by the “Chip” truckers. He filled them up to the rim and often received gifts of appreciation during the holidays. He loved to be of service and was also very dedicated as a volunteer with the Knights of Columbus and as Santa Claus during the holidays.

The funeral will be held at the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Cathedral in Hearst, on March 23rd, 2021 at 4:15p.m, with Father Duolomane Okamba officiating.

 

***The maximum number of people allowed at the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Cathedral is 100, and no gathering is permitted outside. Every person present must wear a suitable mask at all times, including physical distancing of two metres for people who are not from the same household.***
