Obituary of Doreen May Turner
Doreen May Turner from Hearst, passed away peacefully on June 17th, 2019 at 10:35 a.m. at the age of 92. Doreen (born Stephen) was born on August 30th, 1926 in Inverness Shire, Scotland. She was the proud daughter of the Late James Stephen and the Late Jessie Stephen. She was also predeceased by her loving son Larry Turner, her sisters; MaryAnn Stephen, Florence Ritchie and her brother James Stephen, all from Scotland.
Doreen is survived by her children; Jonathan (Patricia) of Louisville, Kentucky, Florence Chambers (Edmund) of Omaha, Nebraska and Kenneth (Monica) of Milton, Ontario. She will also be missed by 10 grandchildren; Krista Crowell from Louisville, Kentucky, William Allerton, Heather Allerton, Kenneth Allerton from Omaha, Nebraska. Richard Turner (Jordyn) from Barrie, Jonathan Turner (Morgan McCartney) from Toronto, Alisha (Reid) from Philadelphia, Mitchell from Milton, Jeffrey from Hearst and Jesse from Thunder Bay. As well as 6 great-grandchildren; Alex Narducci from Omaha Nebraska, Emma, Luke and Aubry Crowell from Louisville Kentucky, Elliott Halloran and Turner Halloran from Philadelphia. Doreen also leaves behind her brother; George (Mable) Stephen from Carrbridge, and her brother-in-law David Ritchie of Inverness Shire, Scotland as well as many nieces, nephews and loving friends.
Doreen came to Canada as a war bride on June 6th 1946. She worked for many years at the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce and retired in 1992. She also was a lifetime member of the Canadian Legion and was a lifetime member of St. Matthew/St Paul’s Anglican/United Church.
Doreen enjoyed, walking, knitting, cooking, baking, visiting with friends and along with being the most wonderful mother and friend, she would go out of her way to help others. We know that the last 14 years were the happiest because of the love she had for Erwin Beger.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at Foyer des Pionnier’s nursing home in Hearst for the care given to Doreen. Doreen touched many lives in her life and in her death will always be remembered. She will be missed and leaves a great imprint in the hearts of all who crossed her path.

Doreen fut prédécéder par ses parents; feu James Stephen et feu Jessie Stephen ainsi que son fils; Feu Larry Turner et ses soeurs; Feu MaryAnn Stephen, Feu Florence Ritchie et son frère; Feu Stephen, tous en Écosse.
Épouse de guerre, Doreen arrive au Canada le 6 juin 1946. Elle a travaillé pendant plusieurs années pour la Banque de Commerce pour prendre sa retraite en 1992. Elle était membre de la Légion ainsi que de l'église St.Matthew/St.Paul.
Doreen aimait la marche, le tricot, cuisiner et rendre visite à ses amis(es). Une mère et amie dévouée, qui avait toujours le bien-être de son entourage à coeur. Les 14 dernières années furent remplies d'amour et de bonheur avec Erwin Beger.
La famille désire sincèrement remercier la direction et le personnel du Foyer des Pionniers pour les soins prodigués à Doreen. Le passage de Doreen parmi nous, a touché la vie et le coeur de tous qui a eu la chance de croiser son chemin.
