Obituary of Luke Moore

We regret to announce the death of Mr. Luke Moore on November 19th, 2021 at the age of 43 at Notre-Dame Hospital in Hearst.  He is survived by his loving spouse Joanne and was the proud father of his beloved children; Vaughn, Conrad and Autumn (Eric), all from Constance Lake as well as 5 adored grandchildren; Tien, Isabella, Ember, George and Colin.  He was the beloved son of Elizabeth and Arthur Moore and will be immensely missed by his brother; Jacob (April), all from Thunder Bay, as well as his grandmother; Alice Ward from Thunder Bay and his father-in-law; Roderick Martin.  He will forever leave a great imprint in the heart of many uncles, aunts, cousins, family and friends.  Luke was predeceased by his grandparents; Bert and Angela Moore as well as his grandpa; Jerry Ward and and his grandmother; Alice Peters  as well as his mother-in-law; Dale Martin.

Luke was a family man and adored his family.  He had a great deal of love for his grandchildren and they held a special place in his heart.  He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing and was always looking forward to his yearly trip to his grandfather's cabin on the Kabina river.  He also enjoyed cooking and preparing meals for his family made him happy.

Luke always had a smile on his face and was very welcoming to everyone he met.  He was a humble man with a huge heart and had great compassion for others.  He was a true role model for many with his kindness and approach in life.  He had many friends in his community of Constance Lake First Nation, Hearst and Thunder Bay.  Luke was a true gentleman and was very well respected by family, friends and peers.  He worked at Lecours Lumber in Constance Lake as a trimmer optimizer for many years, and he will be remembered by all who had the chance of working along his side

 

UPDATE

Mr. Luke Moore will be resting at the Fournier Funeral Services in Hearst on Sunday, November 28th 2021 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. for the public. 

The funeral service will be held on Monday, November 29th, 2021 at the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Cathedral in Hearst at 2:00 p.m. with Father Duoloman officiating.

*** Anyone present in the Notre-Dame de l'Assomption Cathedral and Fournier Funeral Services must wear an appropriate mask or other face covering at all times and respect the physical distance of 2 meters for people who are not part of the same household.  We ask that you please follow the directions upon arrival. Nous avons le regret d'annoncer le décès de M. Luke Moore, le 19 novembre 2021 à l'âge de 43 ans à l'hôpital Notre-Dame de Hearst.  Il laisse dans le deuil sa tendre conjointe Joanne et il était le fier papa de ses enfants chéris; Vaughn, Conrad et Autumn (Eric), tous de Constance Lake ainsi que 5 petits-enfants adorés; Tien, Isabella, Ember, George et Colin.  Il était le fils bien-aimé de Elizabeth et Arthur Moore et il sera énormément manqué par son frère; Jacob (April), tous de Thunder Bay, ainsi que sa grand-mère; Alice Ward de Thunder Bay et son beau-père; Roderick Martin.  Il laisse une trace profonde dans le coeur de plusieurs oncles, tantes, famille et amis (es).  Luke fut précédé dans la mort par ses grands-parents; Bert et Angela Moore ainsi que son grand-père; Jerry Ward, sa grand-mère; Alice Peters et sa belle-mère; Dale Martin.

Luke était un père exemplaire et adorait sa famille.  Il possédait un amour infini pour ses petits-enfants et ceux-ci avaient une place bien spéciale dans son coeur.  Il aimait la nature, le plein air, la chasse et la pêche et avait toujours hâte de se retrouver au chalet de son grand-père sur la rivière Kabina.  Il aimait bien cuisiner et préparer des repas pour sa famille lui fessait plaisir.

Luke avait toujours un beau grand sourire et une belle personnalité.  Il rencontrait toujours les gens d’une approche accueillante et amicale.  Il était humble, avait un grand coeur et possédait une grande compassion envers son entourage.  Luke était un exemple à suivre avec sa bonté et son approche face à la vie.  Il avait beaucoup d’amis (es) dans sa communauté des premières nations de Constance Lake, à Hearst et à Thunder Bay également.  Luke était un homme courtois et était aussi très respecté par sa famille, ses amis (es) et par ses pairs.  Il travaillait à la scierie Lecours de Constance Lake comme optimiseur de coupe pendant plusieurs années, et tous ceux et celles qui ont eu la chance de travailler à ses côtés se souviendront de lui.

MISE À JOUR

M. Luke Moore reposera aux Services Funéraires Fournier à Hearst le dimanche, 28 novembre 2021 de 18h à 20h pour le public.

Les funérailles auront lieu le lundi, 29 novembre 2021 en la cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Assomption de Hearst à 14h, avec le Père Duoloman comme célébrant.

*** Toute personne présente à la Cathédrale Notre-Dame de l'Assomption et aux Services Funéraires Fournier doit porter un masque ou autres couvre-visage approprié en tout temps et respecté la distanciation physique de 2 mètres pour les personnes qui ne font pas partie du même foyer. Nous vous demandons de bien vouloir suivre les instructions à votre arrivée. Nous vous remercions sincèrement pour votre compréhension et votre coopération pendant cette pandémie. ***
